Ireland Govt. Scholarships from External Scholarship Division, MHRD, India

Ireland Government Scholarship is awarded to interested and meritorious candidates from the External Scholarships Division of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. of India.

This Department focuses in arranging for various international scholarships to Indian students from the governments of other countries. The Scholarship is offered at post graduation level in subjects like Hydrology, Environmental Resource Management, Nursing Studies, Community Health, Compensatory and Remedial Education, Occupational Health and Ergonomics.

The Indian Government expects the scholars to come back to India and engage themselves in constructive work on water resource development.

Eligibility, Duration and other Details

The candidates should be Indian nationals and between 23 and 33 years. Two years' relaxation is given SC/ST candidates. They have a good academic record and a good knowledge of Ireland. The candidates should have 2 years of experience in either training or research or teaching after graduating in the relevant field of study.

Ireland Government Scholarship India is granted to two to six candidates for a period of one year on account of following:

• Air fare to and from India
• Tuition fees to be paid by the students at the Universities
• Cost of living allowances
• Allowance for purchase of books
• Expenses incurred for preparation of theses
• Expenses incurred for purchase of woolens and other warm clothing

The notification for the scholarship is published in leading newspaper in February-March every year. The application typed on plain paper with details like name, field of study, address etc should be sent to Director (Scholarship), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, External Scholarship, within the fixed date with the following documents:

• Attested copies of all educational documents and certificates
• Photograph
• Employment plans and programs
• Employer's letter in case of employed persons
