Enquire NowThe Indian Council of Historical Research National Fellowships is granted normally to apparent historians who disclose keen interest in doing further research. ICHR, established in 1972, is an independent organization under the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860.
The Indian Council of Historical Research National Fellowships / Scholarships are awarded for a period of two years and it can be extended for one more year in exceptional cases. It is granted to post graduates and research scholars.
Eligibility for Indian Council of Historical Research National Fellowship Scheme
- Reputed and established historians in universities, colleges and other institutions already experienced in research work having the potential for further career advancement However, in certain cases, the national fellow may not have to be associated with such educational institutes and in such cases he / she will receive the grants directly.
- Those historians who are already employed in either a college or a university or any other institute
Amount of Fellowship
The candidates are granted Rs 25, 000 per month along with a yearly allowance of Rs. 50, 000. The council also provides his leave convenience and contribution towards pension funds.
Application Process
The candidates are asked to send typed application to the Indian Council of Historical Research. Applications should be routed through the university, college or institute where the applicant is employed. The application should be accompanied by the following documents:
- 5 copies of exhaustive note on the research plan
- Curriculum Vitae of the applicant
