The Denmark Government Scholarship Scheme helps the students either to study or do research at any University in Denmark or any institute of higher studies. However, these scholarships are not awarded for a regular course of study. So, no degree or diploma is awarded.
Eligibility, Duration and other Details of Denmark Government Scholarships India
The candidates applying for the Denmark Government Scholarships should be Indian nationals and below the age of 33. There is two years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should have a consistently good academic career with a minimum of 60% marks in post-graduation in the relevant subject or field of study 2 years of uninterrupted teaching experience after having acquired the desired qualification. M.Phil degree is considered as teaching experience. The candidates should have the knowledge of Danish language or should be fluent in either English or German. are required to reside in India for a period of 2 years in succession after their return from Denmark.
The Denmark Government Scholarships are awarded to three candidates for a period of 4 to 8 months.
The Danish Government Scholarship provides tuition fee along with a monthly allowance of Danish Kroner 3,720 for students and graduates. For research scholars and specialists this amount is 4,280 Danish Kroners. The scholarship is controlled on a yearly basis and is tax-free. However, the tax freedom is not applicable if the duration of stay exceeds 365 days within a 2 year period. The scholarship normally provides for the living expenses of the student or the scholar, only.
The notification for the Denmark Government Scholarships is normally published in all leading newspapers and Employment News during the months of December and January. The candidates are asked to send in duly typed applications, on plain paper, carrying necessary sponsorship from employer and accompanied by attested copies of testimonials. Applications should reach the Director (Scholarship), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, External Scholarship, within the fixed date.
