Civil Aviation Scholarships of the Government of India is a scholarship scheme or grant of financial assistance to deserving candidates of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories. The scholarships are provided for training courses in flying and assist the candidates in acquiring a Private Pilot's License from flying clubs or flying schools.

Eligibility for Civil Aviation Scholarships of the Government of India

  • The candidates applying for the Civil Aviation Scholarships of the Government of India should have passed 10 + 2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects
  • The candidates should be between the age group of 17 - 20 years.
  • The candidates should be Indian nationals.
  • The family (parents/guardians) income should not be more than Rs.44, 500 per annum

Value of the Scholarship

  • The amount of financial support under the Civil Aviation Scholarship scheme covers living expenses for an amount of Rs.350/- per month for male candidates and Rs.450/ per month for female candidates. This amount can be extended to 15 months at the most.
  • A yearly allowance of Rs.100/- towards purchase of books is granted under the scholarship.
  • Expenses incurred for obtaining the license and other medical examinations is paid by the Government.
  • Second class train fare is provided for the student while reporting for flying training.
  • An insurance premium up to Rs.10, 000/- will be covered under the scholarship during the period of training.
Application Process

The candidates are asked to send the fully filled up applications within the fixed date. The notification is published in leading newspapers.
