The Jawaharlal Nehru University is barely thirty years old inspired by ideals and values that make it stand out as an exceptionally different place of learning. It is a learning place which cherishes ideas as field of adventure, experimentation and respect for diversity of opinions. Besides class room teaching and, library and the laboratories study, it is the personal interaction between students and teachers and among students themselves form an extremely important and lively medium of generation and transmission of knowledge. The annual Students Union elections conducted entirely by students is an important event at the campus with fierce poster and cartoon wars, verbal duels and competitive yet peaceful group meetings.
