Enquire NowThe word "Ayurveda" is the word of the Sanskrit language which is a combination of two terms "Ayur" and "Veda". The term "Ayur" means life and the term "Veda" means science. Ayurveda developed in the Vedic Yuga about five thousand years ago in India. There are a large number of recognized ayurvedic colleges which offer ayurveda courses. Courses in Ayurveda are offered at various levels like certificate, bachelor, master and doctoral. Ayurvedic courses are offered through various mode of education such as on campus, correspondence and online. Many ayurvedic courses institutes choose students through entrance exam for their ayurveda courses programs. Ayurvedic courses programs are:
B.A.M.S (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
M.S.Ayu (Master of Surgery in Ayurveda)
M.D. Ayu (Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda)
For the Ayurvedic course program B.A.M.S, you should have passed Higher Secondary/P.U.C. (10+20 preferably with Sanskrit or an examination correspondent there to, or Intermediate (Ayurvedic group- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Sanskrit) of any recognized board or university which verifies to the specifications accepted by the Council. The candidates should be at least of 17 years for joining BAMS course. The BAMS program lasts for 5.6 years or 6.6 years including Internship.
You are requested to appear All India Pre-medical/All India Pre-dental exam conducted by CBSE for the ayurvedic course program BAMS. Students with BAMS degree can apply for post graduate programs in ayurveda. The post graduate ayurveda courses programs are offered by many recognized institutions and are of generally 3 years leading to degrees of Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda (M.D. (Ayu)) and Master of Surgery in Ayurveda (M.S. (Ayu)). A large number of ayurvedic courses institutes offer certificate courses for which you should have passed only secondary school exam. Having a certificate or degree in ayurveda helps you to practice in ayurveda. You can earn lots of money having some years of experience in providing ayurvedic treatment.
