According to Act No. 22 of State Legislature of Himachal Pradesh, Bahra University has been established as a State Private University. It is also empowered by the UGC Act 1956. Bahra University has seven campuses all over the world namely in: Delhi, Ropar, Patiala, Mohali, London, Jammu and Hoshiarpur. Bahra University facilities available for all of its campuses are:

Classrooms: All the classrooms are extensively spacious which helps the students to form groups for any learning activity arranged by the faculties. The class rooms are intricately designed to fit in any kind of Practical or Non-Practical lectures, guest faculty sessions as well as other group discussions.

Library: The libraries in the Bahra University Campuses are a great source of knowledge. Starting from the necessary journals, newsletters to the books and online library every source of learning is available over here. It's a complete study solution under one roof. The library has an access to all other resource centres through DELNET.

Computer Centre: The University has a Wi-Fi campus everywhere.

Laboratories: All the practical labs are well equipped facilitating scientific experiments and learning process. Hostels: Accommodation and fooding are absolutely splendid. Ambience is really appreciable and perfect to motivate the students to concentrate on their studies. The University also has recreational facilities like Indoor Games, Television etc. Medical Facilities: Facilities for Medical treatment are available in-house for 24 hours. Medical Officers are being appointed for any kind of emergencies. Transportation: University Buses are available 24 hours from the campus.

Bahra University Courses Offered:

Three categories of Bahra University Courses are being offered: Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Programmes. Different courses are actually offered by five different schools of education. They are:

School of Engineering and Technology: It offers Bachelor Degree programmes like B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech. Civil Engineering, B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering and B.Tech Mechanical Engineering. The span of the courses is 4 years. The minimum eligibility for these courses is 60% score in 10+2 whether it is Medica along with Maths or Non-Medica subjects. As Master Degree programmes offered are M.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering as well as M.Tech Mechanical Engineering. All the M.Tech degree programmes are of 2 years duration. The minimum eligibility criteria is 60% marks in B.Tech. or AMIE (Associate Member of Institute of Engineers). The Doctorate or PhD programmes are also there the main criteria being a Masters. The PhD programmes are 3 years duration.

School of Management: It offers Bachelors Degree (Honours) in Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA). The minimum eligibility is 60% in 10+2. This is a full time 3 years course. Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is the Masters Degree Programme. It is a 2 years full time programme. Eligibility is 55% marks in graduation in any discipline. PhD in Management is of 3 years duration. Eligibility is Post Graduation in Management. School of Pharmacy: Bahra University offers Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy, M.Pharm in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics. Minimum eligibility criteria is 60% marks in Physics and Chemistry. The duration of the Masters courses is 2 years eligibility criterion being 60% in B.Pharm.

School of Hospitality and Tourism: It offers Bachelor courses in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (HMCT) and Tourism Management. The duration of the course is 3 years and the minimum eligibility criteria is 55% marks in 10+2 in any discipline. Masters Degree Programmes are M.Sc. in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (HMCT) and Tourism Management. The minimum eligibility criteria is 50% marks in Hotel Management or equivalent subjects. The durations for Bachelors and Masters Degree are 3 years and 2 years respectively. This school also offers PhD programmes in Tourism Management, the span being 3 years.

School of Basic Sciences: This school only offers PhD programmes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Along with the aforesaid courses, Bahra University faculties are a huge wealth to the Institution. Bahra University Admission:

ahra University admission for the session 2011-12 has already started. For Bachelors and Masters Degree programmes the students can directly apply online through the registration and the application forms. Being shortlisted the candidates will be called for interview. As regards the PhD programmes, admission generally starts from the month of September. Teaching Assistantship is also provided to the candidates who are being selected. Selected applicants will have to pay a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (which is Rs. 250/- for SC, ST and OBC) in favour of "Bahra Educational and Charitable Society" which would be payable at Bahra University, Shimla.
